Rabbi Daniel Kohn, a native of St. Louis, earned a degree in English Literature from Washington University, and an additional B.A. in Hebrew Letters from the University of Judaism in Los Angeles. In the course of his rabbinical studies, Rabbi Kohn studied at the Hebrew University and Beit Midrash LaRabbanim in Jerusalem, receiving an M.A. in Rabbinic Literature and Rabbinical Ordination in 1991 from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America.

Rabbi Kohn has worked for the past sixteen years as a Jewish educator and spiritual leader on both the East and West coasts of the U.S. He was an instructor of Jewish Studies at Akiba Hebrew Academy in Philadelphia, as well as a founding rabbi and department head of Judaic Studies at the Solomon Schechter High School of Long Island. Rabbi Kohn has also served as the spiritual leader at Temple Beth Judah in Wildwood, New Jersey, Congregation Kol Shofar in Tiburon, and Congregation B’nai Israel in Vallejo. He has also served as a guest rabbi for numerous congregations, camps, youth groups, and Havurot in the San Francisco Bay Area for high holidays and other special occasions.

A prolific writer on the topics of Jewish education, spirituality, martial arts, and traditional Jewish texts, Rabbi Kohn has published over 1,000 articles online and magazines, as well as three books on Jewish education, spirituality, and Jewish texts.

Rabbi Kohn is currently the Rabbi-in-Residence at the Contra Costa Jewish Day School in Lafayette, Guest Rabbi at Congregation B'nai Emunah in San Francisco, and also makes time to serve as a Master-Teacher for Lehrhaus Judaica. He holds a Third Degree Black Belt in Aikido, and currently studies Tai Chi.

Rabbi Kohn lives in Mill Valley, California with his wife, Deborah, and their three children.
